About Rogue Bard

Hey there! I picked up a guitar when I was eight, enrolled in classical training, but quickly realized it didn’t quite match the rock 'n' roll dreams I had in mind. My teacher eventually let me go after I skipped one of his concerts to attend a Judo class — a decision I have zero regrets about. Fast-forward to age 14, when I heard “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. I was hooked. That was the beginning of me really playing guitar, teaching myself, experimenting, and eventually investing in an electric guitar. With no band to jam with, I went a bit rogue and created my own software to simulate realistic-sounding drums and bass, just so I could play along. My music evolved, even though I didn’t pursue it as a career — and did not even consider it at the time, to be honest.

At almost 47, I’m embracing a whole new musical landscape. Technology has made it possible to produce high-quality recordings from the comfort of my own space, no need for pricey studio time. I can find incredible musicians from all over the world to collaborate with, thanks to online platforms. So the once-daunting task of bringing an idea to life has become much more accessible—and with far better results than back in the day.

My music spans across genres (by design, as I tend to get bored within one genre), moving seamlessly between blues, rock, jazz, ambient, and even orchestral influences. I've always been drawn to blending styles, creating pieces that range from gritty blues-rock to Viking anthems, and everything in between (crazy ideas included, but not Frank Zappa crazy :-)). My goal is to create experiences that speak to the universal human journey: the inner conflicts, moments of discovery, and the push-pull between modern chaos and timeless truths (or whatever happens to move me at the time). Through my lyrics, I dive into storms—both real and metaphorical—and capture that feeling of late-night introspection. I want listeners to feel something deeply (ideally) and be able to picture the stories I tell through my music.

So that’s why you’re hearing my music now. After years of creating songs that ended up stored away in a drawer, I’m finally able to share my stories, sounds, and sometimes even the quirky ideas that float around in my head. I hope you’ll come along for the ride as I explore this musical path, always a bit rogue, always searching for new ways to express the journey.
